Religious Education

 RE Children

New Season begins

We are looking forward to a new and exciting year of religious education. There will be two groups this year; one for preschoolers and another for older students. Preschoolers, aged 2 -5, will be learning about some of the basic Bible stories and how they apply to our principles. Occasionally there will be a craft project, music or games that also teach what UU's believe

The secondary class will include a more in depth look at what UU's believe and how we can practice those beliefs. We will also begin some of the "Coming of Age" program. Community service projects for our congregation and community will be arranged as well. We are hoping to involve members of our congregation in our RE program and have some plans for adult RE.

Attendance is important to get the most out of what is being offered this year, so please encourage your child to attend and participate in as many activities as possible. Looking forward to seeing everyone. RE registration forms will be available on the first Sunday of Sunday School.

If any or our youth are interested in participating in a junior choir please let me know. We need at least five children who are able to attend rehearsals regularly. We are so lucky to have Richard to help with this endeavor.

Thanks! Debra D' Alessandro Religious Education Director

Children are enjoyed by our congregation! Childcare is provided for infants and young children, though parents are welcome to have children stay with them during the service. Age appropriate religious education programs are also available for children during the service.

Children begin Sunday mornings in church for about 15 minutes for the lighting of the chalice, a children's story and the sharing of joys and concerns. They then invited to attend religious education. Parents are encouraged to bring their children to church on a regular basis so they can enjoy and learn together.

Periodically we have an intergenerational service, usually at the time of a holiday, where children remain with us for the entire time.
